Summary:
Performs clinical evaluations, problem assessments, initiates diagnostic and treatment plans, and educates patients for specialty areas. Additional duties in precepting students/new employee, performing quality management activities, and providing community/professional education offering. The PA may perform medical services only when such services are rendered under the supervision of a fully licensed physician.

You will play a crucial role in advancing stroke care, contributing to expanding our inpatient and outpatient practice and participating in endovascular procedures.

The APP will work directly with the neurointerventionalist to treat vascular diseases of the central nervous system and to provide appropriate care to patients in the inpatient and outpatient settings. APP will be responsible for all aspects of the service, to include daily rounds and progress notes, ER and inpatient consults, admissions and discharges, ordering and interpreting labs and radiologic studies, fielding phone calls from beside nurses, assisting with same day pre-procedural evaluations and discharges, coordination of periprocedural care, obtaining consent, multidisciplinary care coordination, and patient education. You will also assist with Neuroendovascular procedures within scope of practice and Broward Health System credentialing and privileges .
- Monday-Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm.
- Inpatient call coverage 1:2 during business hours with MD support and collaboration.
- Manage care and assist with Neuroendovascular Procedures.
- Clinic patients include Stroke, TIA, Carotid Stenosis, Aneurysms, and Complex Cerebrovascular Disorders.
- Volumes:
- Inpatient: 3-5 consults per day with daily follow-up and rounding.
- Outpatient: 6-10 patients per day
The APP utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. The NP/PA will provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. Position requires a high level of patient-centered skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.
