The Clinical Documentation Improvement Supervisor will provide a key role in facilitating long-term success of the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) program with the day-to-day oversight of the CDI program. The CDI Supervisor will supervise the CDI team to ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation in the medical record that supports the coding process in attaining appropriate DRG assignment based on accurate and timely clinical entries in the medical record. The CDI Supervisor will support ongoing communication and education on documentation opportunities and reimbursement issues as related to documentation, as well as performance improvement methodologies to Physicians, Residents, AHPs and hospital staff. The CDI Supervisor will perform concurrent and retrospective medical record reviews to ensure that case mix index, severity of illness, and risk of mortality is optimized for maximum reimbursement and risk adjustment opportunities. The CDI Supervisor is responsible for data collection, entry, and reporting as needed.
1 year related Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) experience with Doctor of Medicine; 2 years related (CDI) experience required with PA; 5 years related (CDI) experience with BSN; 7 years related CDI experience required with RN
Graduate of an approved school of nursing or medical school BSN, PA or Doctor of Medicine required.
