JOB SUMMARY:
The role of pharmacy informaticists revolves around their knowledge of pharmacy practice, safe medication use, clinical decision-making, and the improvement of medication therapy outcomes, combined with their understanding of the discipline of informatics and Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) systems. Responsible for day-to-day support activities and all aspects of assigned projects. As required, defines project scope and objectives. Conducts or participates in projects and tactical meetings and is responsible for issue tracking and analysis. Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews deliverables with customers. Provides direct clinical oversight and decision support to the design and development of the pharmacy database and associated functionality. Provides oversight and guidance to other analysts to complete medication-related build(s) according to the standards set forth in the Oath of a Pharmacist. Provides quality checks and system design guidance to ensure patient safety standards are upheld. Evaluates and approves information systems for maintaining data as it relates to State and Federal regulations.

A. Reports to: Manager
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Education (or equivalent years of experience):
BSPharm or PharmD, obtained from an institution accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
B. Experience (or equivalent education):
1. BSPharm or PharmD plus six years of relevant IS or Pharmacy experience, OR
2. BSPharm or PharmD with PGY-1 from a program accredited by the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists (ASHP)plus 3 years of relevant IS or Pharmacy experience, OR
3. BSPharm or PharmD with PGY-1 and PGY-2 (Informatics) from a program or programs accredited by the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists (ASHP).

Epic Willow Inpatient Certification
