RN- Acute Care RN Residency Program – New Grads with license apply here – 3- #38023
The Nurse Residency Program at Broward Health provides the novice nurse with the knowledge base, skill set and structured support needed to transition from being a student to a competent and confident registered nurse in clinical nursing practice. The residency program supplements the traditional hospital and unit orientations. One of the primary goals of the program is to improve the new graduate nurse’s ability to critically think and develop the ability to manage outcomes data to promote patient safety and deliver quality care at the bedside.
Broward Health’s Nurse Residency Program is designed in conjunction with the HealthStream Nurse Residency Pathway. The focus of the program content is on development of residents’ leadership skills, clinical competence, application of outcomes data to patient care improvements and professional development. The yearlong, evidence-based program bridges the gap between nursing education and “real-life” professional nursing practice. The program curriculum consists of the following:
• Nurse resident orientation / Launch Day
• Simulation experiences at the Virtual Hospital
• Clinical lectures
• Debrief discussions
• Leadership development
• Professional growth seminars
• Career coaching
Nurse residents are paired with a mentor throughout the Nurse Residency Program. The program’s effectiveness is regularly measured through participant feedback obtained from the HealthStream Nurse Residency Pathway Surveys.
There is a financial commitment by Broward Health to the residency program for each resident. Broward Health asks that each resident also commit to Broward Health for a period of two clinical years, which is supported by a $5,000 obligation to Broward Health by the resident if the agreement is not fulfilled.
Thank you for your interest in Broward Health. Broward Health is an EO/AA procurer of goods/services, M/F/D/V.
