 Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale has been a respected leader in healthcare since its founding in 1938. As Broward Health’s flagship hospital, Broward Health Medical Center offers 716 beds and is home to virtually every medical specialty, including cardiac care, maternity, neonatology, pediatrics and comprehensive stroke care. Additional services include cancer care, kidney and lung transplant, orthopaedics, palliative care, robotics, sickle cell, surgical weight loss, a Level I trauma center and an on-site fitness center.
 
 
 
Pool 20 hours per paid period. Varied days per week 7:30am-4:00pm.  
 
 High school graduation or equivalent.  
 
Previous coding experience in an acute care hospital setting. 2-3 years’ experience as a trauma registrar. Certified Specialist in Trauma Registries (CSTR) or CAISS(certified abbreviated injury scale specialist) preferred. Certification required within 1 year of hire/transfer to Senior Trauma Registrar position.
 
Demonstrated computer or data entry skills. Successful completion of ICD 10 and AIS coding courses. Completion of a national Trauma Registry course within one year of hire. Maintains 8 hours of continuing education in trauma registry specific education each year.  The Senior Trauma Registrar collects, analyzes, and enters trauma patient data into the trauma registry as delineated in the Florida Trauma Registry Manual and National Trauma Data Bank (NTDB) Data Dictionary. In conjunction with the Trauma Registrar(s), the Senior Trauma Registrar maintains an accurate trauma database, adheres to state and national inclusion criteria and provides reports and analysis of the data. He or she acts as the trauma registry knowledge expert, adept report creator and as the liaison between state and national regulating bodies with regards to trauma registry maintenance and submissions. The Senior Trauma Registrar organizes, performs and delegates appropriately the data submission for the State of Florida and the NTDB in a timely and accurate manner. The Senior Trauma Registrar in conjunction with the Regional Manager of Trauma Services keeps apprised of state and national standards.
