Summary:
Performs registration and pre-registration functions for in-patients, out-patients, and emergency department patients in order to ensure the integrity of the financial data gathered, customer satisfaction and to support quality patient care. Collects monies due, verifies insurance, and performs financial screening to support positive collections and optimal reimbursement. Enhances the hospital's public image by direct efforts towards increasing patient satisfaction.

Education:
Essential:
* High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

  a. Communicates with customers, proactively facilitates the patient financial clearance. Financially clears all Utilizes Registration/Quick registration functions to ensure accurate patient selection and identification, if applicable, and demographic information of patients. b. Completes all patient demographic and insurance data elements in the registration pathway. c. Obtains information for meaningful use and marketing initiatives. d. Obtains Preferred Pharmacy insurance information for all Broward Health Complete Pharmacy service offices. e. Enters physician identification into the computer to include primary care physician, non-staff physician and all other physician identification numbers. f. Scanning/Uploading Identification of Patient inclusive of but not limited to Government issued ID, Social Security Card, Insurance or other forms of ID.  

Credentials:
  Some working knowledge of patient registration, patient accounting, knowledge of CPT and ICD 10, medical terminology preferred but not required.
