Summary:

The Corporate Director of Patient Access Services is responsible for leading and overseeing all centralized and decentralized functions related to patient access across a multi-facility healthcare system. This includes registration, insurance verification, financial clearance, pre-authorization, and point-of-service collections. The Director is accountable for developing strategic initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing patient throughput, and driving operational efficiency across all centralized access services and the regions. This leader works closely with clinical operations, IT, revenue cycle leadership, and front-line teams to deliver excellent patient experience while supporting the organization’s financial goals. The director will work with the CFO’s to create strategies for effective denials management across the enterprise.

The Director will motivate staff to achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction and to meet the organizational goals for customer service and financial performance. The position will ensure the reporting of strategic initiatives, revenue cycle services relating to pre-registration services systems, information technology, communication, technical oversight, training and support, quality assurance, performance improvement metrics and measurement, regulatory and compliance issues. Implementation and monitoring of network-wide operational best practices. 


Education:
Essential:
* Bachelor’s degree obtained through a formal 4-year program or equivalent years of work experience.

Experience:
Essential:
* Ten (10) years of related experience in healthcare in a patient financial services leadership role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge and experience in the management of a centralized scheduling, pre-access model of operations. Comprehensive understanding of medical and financial terminology. Understanding of clinical documentation for Telephonic Triage Nurses and the peer reviews.
