Summary:
Under the direction of a Registered Respiratory Therapist, the Respiratory Therapy Extern is responsible for the assembly, transport, disinfection, calibration and troubleshooting of respiratory related equipment.
Education:
Enrollment in a Respiratory Therapy Program and completion of 1 full Respiratory Therapy Clinical Rotation. Or completion of the BS/Associate Respiratory Therapy program with application to take the respiratory therapy license. Extending expected graduation date, due to failing grades or dropping out of a Respiratory Therapy program is a condition for automatic termination as a Respiratory Therapy Extern.
Essential:
* Associate
Experience:Previous experience with assembly and cleaning of respiratory therapy preferred.
Credentials:
Respiratory Therapy licensure within 3 months of graduation
Education equivalent experience:
· AHA or American Red Cross BLS.
· ACLS
· NRP (depending on patient population)
· PALS (depending on patient population)
Essential:
