Summary:We are seeking an accomplished and lead Cloud Engineer to drive Broward Health’s enterprise cloud strategy and architecture. This role goes beyond senior engineering duties and is ideal for someone who brings deep technical expertise, foresight, leadership influence, and a proven ability to guide an organization through cloud modernization and digital transformation initiatives.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate mastery across Microsoft Azure, M365, Entra ID, Purview, Microsoft Defender, Copilot, automation frameworks, AI and Zero Trust methodologies. This role requires the ability to architect large-scale cloud solutions, set technical standards, and provide strategic direction for Broward Health's cloud environment.


Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Architecture & Strategy

· Architect end‑to‑end Azure, M365, Purview, and Defender solutions aligned with organizational goals and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, NIST, Zero Trust).

· Define and govern cloud standards, best practices, and landing zone architecture across the enterprise.

· Lead multi‑year cloud modernization and transformation initiatives.

Technical Leadership & Oversight

· Serve as the highest-level internal SME for Azure, Entra ID, M365, Copilot, Purview, AI, automation, and security integration.

· Conduct design reviews, evaluate emerging technologies, and drive decision-making for strategic investments.

· Oversee and guide complex escalations that require deep technical troubleshooting across cloud, identity, and security stacks.

Security, Governance & Compliance

· Lead implementation of Zero Trust frameworks, Conditional Access strategies, data classification, and Purview governance policies.

· Partner with cybersecurity teams to strengthen Defender XDR/EASM posture and implement proactive risk mitigation.

· Ensure all cloud designs meet HIPAA, PHI/PII, and regulatory requirements.

Automation & Optimization

· Design scalable automation solutions using PowerShell, Azure Automation, Logic Apps, or other tools.

· Optimize cost, performance, and operational efficiency across cloud environments.


Collaboration & Influence

· Partner with executive leadership, department heads, and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into cloud architecture.

· Mentor senior engineers, develop skill roadmaps, and lead technical knowledge‑sharing across the organization.

· Act as a liaison with Microsoft and other vendors to evaluate and adopt new features or early-access programs.

Innovation & Future Readiness

· Proactively research, pilot, and adopt emerging technologies including AI/ML services, cloud-native security, and enterprise data governance advancements.

· Guide long-term planning for Broward Health’s cloud strategy, ensuring the organization remains agile, secure, and scalable.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

· Extensive experience in enterprise cloud architecture, Microsoft Azure, M365, and identity/security modernization at scale.

· Deep knowledge of virtualization, hybrid identity, Zero Trust, infrastructure automation, and cloud governance.

· Demonstrated leadership in designing and deploying highly available, secure, and mission-critical cloud workloads.

· Exceptional communication and ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.

· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and systems-thinking abilities.

· Preferred certifications:

o Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

o Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert

o Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect

o Relevant security or architecture certifications (CISSP, CCSP, etc.)
